London is one of my favorite cities now, but when I first visited it several years ago on my first trip to Europe I didn’t love it because it felt very touristy. However, now that I have moved to England and have been to London a number of times I have found some really lovely hidden gems and it’s now a city that I love to visit! I’m excited to share these London hidden gems with you so you can check them out when you visit if you’re looking to get off the beaten track! Let’s dive in!

UPMarket Brick Lane Food Hall
One of my favorite hidden gems I love to tell people about is the UPMarket Food Hall. This spot is a foodie’s dream. You’ll find dishes from all over the world, such as Jamaica, Thailand, China, India, Germany, Lithuania, Mexico, Japan, and more. My favorite go-to is the Lithuanian meatballs!
I also love that you can walk around and almost every stand will give you a sample to try their food to help you decide what you want to get. It’s so much fun. There are also stalls for coffee, dessert, and homemade goods. This is one hidden gem you should definitely check out, just make sure to come hungry!

Gordon’s Wine Bar
I think Gordon’s Wine Bar is such a unique and fun spot to enjoy a glass of wine. Gordon’s Wine Bar is London’s oldest wine bar and was first established in 1890. You can pick from a large variety of wines and order a snack like a charcuterie board.
The best spot to sit in this restaurant is in the cellar room. It’s lit only by candles and you are tucked away underground. It feels like you’re in another decade and is overall a really cool restaurant!

Get Ramen at Yokocho
This retro-style Ramen spot is probably the best ramen I’ve ever had, and I eat a lot of ramen. This restaurant has 2 locations in London and grabbing a meal here will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the streets of Japan.
They offer a variety of different types of ramen from different regions in Japan as well as tasty appetizers and sides such as squid balls (my husband’s favorite), sushi, gyoza, etc. I highly recommend coming here when you’re in London!

Chinatown
The Chinatown in London is a really cool neighborhood and one of the best Chinatowns I’ve seen. Unlike the Chinatowns you see in America where the businesses are usually just popular American brands with Chinese writing for the name, the businesses in Chinatown in London are authentic. You’ll find authentic restaurants, bakeries, and shops.
So, if you’re looking for dinner or to grab a drink this is an awesome neighborhood to check out. I also recommend stopping by the Chinatown Bakery. They have a bunch of really good authentic Chinese treats. We got taiyaki which is a fish-shaped waffle with red bean paste filling and it was super yummy!

Discount Suit Company (Speakeasy Bar)
This cocktail bar is hidden underground directly next to a real suit company. This unique bar used to be a suit tailor’s storeroom and has since been transformed into a cozy bar. They serve a variety of specialty cocktails and if you don’t like anything on the menu the bar staff is happy to make you a unique cocktail depending on what you like to drink. I asked them to make me something fruity and sweet and it was probably one of the best cocktails I’ve had! This bar is super unique and one you should check out!

Wrapping Up
London is such a unique and fun city to visit. There is so much to see and do, and if you’re looking for things that are less touristy and more unique I hope you check out these hidden gems in London! I can personally vouch for everything on this list as someone who loves visiting London and I hope you have a fun-filled trip! Happy travels!
