About Beacon New York
Beacon, New York was originally settled by the Dutch in 1685. Beacon shares borders with its neighboring towns of Fishkill and Maybrook.
Once known as “the richest town in America,” it got this name due to the high concentration of salt-producing families. It is also the site of the Mount Beacon Incline Railway, a funicular railway that was once used to transport goods up the side of the Hudson Palisades.

If you are taking the train then there are several options to get to Beacon from Penn Station. The 2, 4, and 5 trains will take you straight to Beacon and you can enjoy great views on your commute!
If you are driving, take I-87 North to Rt 9W South for about 8 miles to get into Beacon
